Body release vs Hand release explained and how the tour pros really do it and why if you get it wrong, your golf swing will lack swing speed and consistency.
Knowing what you and your body is actually capable of is key to playing good golf and having an effortless golf swing for many years to come especially if you have a senior golf swing. The body release in the golf swing is what the tour pros do for the most part. A strong rotation and holding off the wrist angles. Dustin Johnson and others.
The hand release is more like a Bubba Watson golf swing or a Phil Mickelson golf swing.
A golf swing release that allows more wrist action and flow requiring less golf swing rotation. But you need to know your own abilities and limitations to find the most consistent golf swing you can to strike your irons pure and hit longer and straighter drives. You need to practice and test both with the golf tips and try with different club to see what suits your golf swing more.
Whether it’s a senior golf swing or a young athletic golf swing like the tour pros, you need to do what is best for you.
IF YOU WANT TO REALLY SEE INCREDIBLE IMPROVEMENT AND REMOVE GUESSWORK AWAY, THEN THE SHORT SWING MAXIMIZER IS AN IDEAL PROGRAM FOR YOU.
Excellent explanation thanks.

Hi Alex
John Baker here again.
Just came across your body release or hand release and, through watching a very popular golf website which teaches the body release (they shall remain nameless at this point) I now know that trying to do the body release is definitely not going to work for a 75 years young golfer, where to get enough speed with my body to make a difference isn’t going to happen, so am now going to discard that (paralysis by analysis) again and concentrate on your hand release swing. So thanks again for that explanation of the two types of swing which I wasn’t aware of. As an aside, where are you based if I wanted a lesson? I live now in Portugal so are there any plans for you to coach here at some point?
Hi, I would suggest blending the two and see how you get on. Allow softer arms and more flow.
As for Portugal, just had some friends move there so that, and a few others asking for a clinic etc there may be on the cards:) I do online lessons too in the mean time as well as the online programs we have:)
