Is Your Golf Swing “Broken” And You Played The Worst Round Of Golf?
Have you ever or recently had the hopes of a good round of golf smashed because you “lost” Your golf swing?
Thinking about giving up golf because you suck so badly despite your best efforts on the practice range, lessons, or following golf tips?
YOU ARE NOT ALONE
Even the best players in the world feel that way at times I assure you. So first off… go a little easier on your self ok. With that said, go here to see a lesson that can help to play stress free golf swing
GOLF IS A HARD GAME AND PERFECTION IS FLEETING
But with that said how can I suggest you improve your golf swing after what may feel like the “worst round of golf ever”
These are the principles I apply to myself, to my students and now… you. Whether it was bad ball striking, hit slice shots, no consistency or just a bad golf swing sequence that day, it sucks.
And yes a short game and putting can help, but what if they leave you too?
Well, it happens to even PGA tour players and it’s all relative. Maybe like me you were very stressed about work, or maybe it’s family stress, pressure or just too many things on your mind… whatever it may be, it’s not always your golf swing technique at fault.
The goal is to make sure you come back with confidence and understanding about what to do with your golf swing and ball striking so the next time you play, happens for one thing, but is not something your fear or dread.
Also we go over Some simple golf tips to recover from the worst round of golf with your golf swing and also chipping technique.
Alex Fortey from the Art of Simple Golf gives you a simple golf tip to improve your golf swing Enjoy this golf video to help you get closer to having a perfect golf swing.. YOUR perfect golf swing
I am a 26 handicap that once had an eagle, birdie, birdie, par followed by 4 quadruple bogies during a round. My partners looked at me and said – how can you play so bad after playing so well? Unfortunately, that pattern has continued 30 years later and when my round goes to hell as is often the case, I apologize to my playing partners and hit the driving range the next day to attempt duplicating the bad shots and understand why they crept into my round. The answer? I have a few orthopedic issues from my football days and they truly affect how smooth I can swing though the ball instead of at it. You have emphasized how detrimental swinging at the ball can be and i will attest to that fact but it is less painful to take a stab at the ball and let the ground stop my rotation instead of that beautiful follow through which I have done during every round with great results but few and far between. Another serious fault I have is placing the ball in different locations for the same shots/same club whether I am on the tee or on the fairway or just trying to make an effective chip. I will flip the wrists, stab the ground and basically embarass myself, Note that I am now doing physical therapy and exercises to help with the pain but I have no excuse when I mishit simple chips and pitches. I am 70 and realize only a reincarnation may help my situation but like the priest in Caddy Shack movie, I am hoping for that god inspired round before I leave this earth or at least break 85.. Alex, I enjoy your lessons and guidance and keep up the good work. Nelson Paolini, Lakeland, Florida
Thanks for sharing this and sorry for delay.. You are not alone my friend. But the key is to know YOUR swing. And if getting through is a challenge, you need to look at a couple of videos that I talk about opening stance up and swinging shorter. Also, the short swing maximizer program could be exactly what you need.
Keep at it and i’m sure the breaking 85 is closer than you think!
Thank you for this video. The only problem is your worst round is better than my best round. I really appreciate you lessons and tips. I try to put into pracise what you try to teach us. Simplicity is the key that most pors don’t teach, they are too technical orientated. I would like to see a video on how to play in strong winds. Last year I shot the best round of my life in 25 MPH wind. Thank you again for showing me the basics.
It’s all relative and we can hate ourselves and want to give up. Even the best in the world do:) Keep at it and yes, will look at playing in wind video :

Hi Alex
I can relate, along with thousands of others, to the bad round video! The saying ‘ golf is an easy game made difficult by the people that play it’ is so true!
I have always been a long iron player, but as I got older decided I had to move to fairways and hybrids. Now after watching tons of videos, including yours, on how to stop topping the fairway woods, all to no avail! Yesterday I played and after scuttling my driver decided I needed to hit 3-wood to make up ground. So without thinking about all the moves I needed to make to ensure I didn’t top the ball I just swung and lo and behold the ball went off like a rocket! After that out came the 5-wood, the hybrid and the 3-wood and I just could not miss! So the point being that often, as your video pointed out, it is better to just stop over thinking things and get back to swinging naturally and simply without a plethora of swing faults. Keep up the good work – simple is key!
Excellent! And yes.. we all get in our own way at times for sure… and the feels you have are key. Write them down so you can go back to principles you know work for you!
