GOLF SWING SET UP TWEAK FOR SENIORS AND POOR MOBILITY GOLFERS TO IMPROVE POWER AND STRIKING
A restricted golf swing does happen to many golfers…
Be it senior golfers or those with limited mobility and flexibility there is a very simple golf swing set up tweak you can make to increase range of backswing, rotation and help get more distance and flow to a swing that is consistent.

Alex Fortey from the Art of Simple Golf gives you a simple golf tip to improve your address position and posture to have a better golf swing. Too many golfers needlessly force their body into a model they are told they have to be in to produce good golf… It’s false.
All it will do is ruin your golf swing and your game.. especially if you are little more experienced in life as it were.
#1 senior golf mistake – Trying to be like the tour pros.
#2 Forcing and muscling the body to hit distances and make swings
#3 Trying to life the ball up
Now, these are of course not the only mistakes senior players make, but they are 3 very important ones to avoid if you want to play better and good golf for years to come.
Hi Alex, I’m wondering if you can help me with a new hurdle??? I was shot in the head and robbed 9 months ago! The losers I was trying to help get employment, not only, to everything of value that my wife and I had… which btw, robbed my family’s financial security and my dream of starting a new charity for under privileged kids! It’s difficult to say what is worse… The fact that my coin collection (estimated to bring $8.5mil-$11mil at auction) which was gonna fully fund my charity was taken by a couple of morons who probably sold the $ix figure coins for $50 each! Or maybe it’s the fact that they robbed me of the sight in my right eye??? Honestly, I’m leaning towards my coins as the greater loss but having basically zero depth perception now, I’m struggling to find enjoyment from practicing the game! This has been my escape from the intolerable for the past 5 years and now I tend to have to spend a third of my time simply convincing my brain to trust the feel of my swing rather than where my eye is telling it I need to adjust my swing in order to swing through the ball. Do you think I am stuck with mere trial and error until the muscle memory and basics are dominant over what I think I see ? After the first 1-1.5 dozen balls, I am surprisingly making very good contact for the most part! Actually, certain parts of my game that I considered my weaknesses are now strengths because of this trust in my feel approach.I.e. a 75yd SW is now a punch gap or even PW w/a good lie so I can still get plenty of action on the ball. I don’t have the luxury of what I am most proud of in my game any longer. I simply don’t even attempt to work the ball! I can honestly say that my ability to work the ball left, right, high or low is the primary reason for me not shooting in the high 80s or worse! When I figured out what I had to do to develop a feel and understanding of what was needed in order to control the ball in flight, I literally went from a 9 or 10 handicap to scratch and subpar in 3 weeks! My friends all asked, how in the heck did you get so good? I tied the course record with a 64 just 5 weeks after my transi/transformation of my swing! After sharing what I had learned with my closest friends, all 5 have become scratch golfers! Even though, my first dozen or so balls I try to put a move on these days are so god awful, I consistently think and say aloud,” God I hope no one was watching that!!!”I don’t get to practice nearly as much as I used to. After racking up over $300k in Dr & hospital bills and losing virtually everything of value we had, I suppose that I have a good enough excuse but I’m hopeful that you have something stashed away in your mind that can aid me in whittling away a portion of my 12-24 blades and/or chunks in my warm up!? I realize that this is certainly not a problem for which one would expect to have to be prepared because nothing is going to give me back my sight in my right eye but if you can share a drill that can expedite my comfort when warming up, I’ll get back in my groove! Just keep in mind, I’m only trying to eliminate about a dozen swings that I am merely searching for the proper feeling. Those dozen tend to turn into about 30 or more because they are so hideous, my frustration comes gushing out!! I look and feel like I picked up my first golf club yesterday! Even if you only have theory, I’m all ears! If ya got nothing, don’t sweat it! There’s no shame in it! I bet there are fewer than 2% of coaches out there who would even attempt to offer guidance to someone in my condition! I know, I’ve been giving lessons (informally) for about 5 years now and I have 100% faith that barring any physical limitations, if my students will listen and trust in what we come up with together, I can have ANYONE who shoots in the double digits regularly (even 98-99), dipping into the 70s in less than 3 months! I feel like I understand the physicality of the golf swing as well as anyone but imagining working with someone in my shoes,..Seriously, I’d probably just give up! Thanks in advance for anything you might be able to send my way and thanks so much for all you do for the game! I advise anyone who comes to me for help to spend at least a week watching as many of your videos as possible before we begin! You can easily justify renaming this to The Art of Simple Golf Instruction!!! All the best, Dan
THe best thing I can suggest is to send me a video of your swing Sir. I’m sorry you have experienced such awful things.
